Mitchell, Catherine, and Silas Janzen
Donation protected
Mitchell and Catherine welcomed their beautiful firstborn son, Silas Ricky Janzen, into the world at 10:14am on Friday, September 27th. He was the most perfect little boy with thick blonde curly hair. Friday was the most special day that Mitch and Cat got to spend with their precious little boy and introduce him to family.
On Saturday morning at 1am, the nurses noticed that Silas' colouring was off, and rushed him to the NICU where they worked on finding a reason for his low O2 levels. He arrested for the first time around 3am, and with chest compressions the doctors and nurses were able to bring him back. Then he arrested again around 4am, and officially passed into Jesus' arms at 4:18am on September 28th. We are thankful that we have a hope beyond this world, and we so look forward to the day when we get to see little Silas again. 17 hours wasn’t long enough on earth, but we will get an eternity with him in the presence of Jesus, which brings us great joy. As a family we feel so uplifted by the church and the prayers of those around us, and on behalf of Mitch and Cat I can say we are forever grateful.
There are no answers of what went on in little Silas's body, and an autopsy is being done to hopefully give some answers. In the mean time, Mitchell and Catherine are met with decisions that no parents should ever have to make for their child. Many people have been reaching out asking how to help, and this seemed like a tangible way to help them not have to worry about funeral costs and the uncertainty about when Catherine could return to work. Thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts.
As of now the service date is yet to be set.
