Mitchell Family Tragedy ♥️

Trace is finally moved out of intensive care and down to the burn unit and she’s off the ventilator and stable. ♥️Thank you all so much for your contributions to the Mitchell Family. They are so thankful. Sending so much love to you all who have donated. You are alleviating so much financial burden for Austin and Tracy and their extended families ♥️

Tracy is awake and responding yall!!! Thank you God! She knows about Darrell and her home and had a good chat with Austin and they’re managing as best as they can. Keep your prayers coming, it’s working!!

**Update**

Tracy is still on the ventilator, every so often she is taking her own breath so that’s positive !!! They have stopped giving her sedation but she is still unresponsive to commands and her eyes still are not responding to light, doctors think that may be due to the medication and it should be out of her system in a few days. They are having a Neurologist come in to check what’s going on, as her CT scan yesterday was good.

The doctors have Tracy’s burns from 20% down to 12% of her body. They are going to attempt to wake her up today (Sept 5th). Austin is heading to Halifax today. Will keep everyone informed.

Hi my name is Katie.

I’m the early morning hours of September 4th 2024, a house fire broke out in the Mitchell residence. Courageously, Austin was able to save Tracy who now remains in Halifax in a coma, with 20% of her body burned, but unfortunately I’m sorry to share that Darrell was unable to be saved despite the efforts of Austin, the Springhill Fire Department and First Responders. Darrell was an incredible man, full of love and laughter. Regardless of his illness and ailments, he always had a smile on his face and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Darrell will be so missed.

Tracy will remain in hospital for what may be a very long road to recovery and Austin has been left with absolutely nothing.

This go fund me is to raise money for medical expenses to get Austin back and for the to Halifax to see his mother. For Funeral expenses for Darrell and for Austin to get back on his feet. Austin is currently stay with his Cousins James & Kate Simmonds and could use anything and everything you would need to start over.
