Mitch’s “Herdy’s Frontyard Ultra” Challenge
On March 17 I’ll be sending myself around herdsman lake again for Herdy’s Frontyard Ultra.
Runners must complete a 6.71km loop every hour on the hour until only one runner remains. Last year I had to tap out on lap 18, inexperienced and pretty green to the ultra running. This year I’ll be gearing up to atleast double that. 36 laps, 36 hours, 241km+.
Once again this is all for a cause. I’ll be supporting and fundraising for 20Talk. A not for profit in Perth who are doing seriously good things to support the mental health of young Australians.
20Talk provide essential mental health services and training and are generating constant awareness in the community to help break the stigma that mental health has. Head to the 20Talk Instagram @20_talk to learn all about them.
I found a passion for running over the last couple years and I am very grateful for the mental health benefits it has given me. I want to be able to use this event to spread awareness and give back to the community.
This years event is set to break the record for the largest field for a backyard ultra and I’m stoked to be a part of it.
This is sure to be a wild ride, so pencil in March 17 to see me lose my marbles yet again. Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated!
