Mitch Marcoulier Brain Tumor Relief

Donation protected
This is the hardest statement that I have ever had to write, but because of the urgency of our situation and what is going on, I am left with no other option. In the beginning of October 2021, Mitch lost his hearing in his left ear. Mitch’s ears are his life. He uses them for both his business life with Synclavier and his other music life with his gig playing. Losing his hearing is a GIGANTIC DEAL. After following the rules and going to the regular doctor he was finally referred to a specialist. At first they thought the left ear deafness was caused by a virus (not COVID) so the Ear Specialist attempted to treat the issue with steroids, after a few weeks of that, with no resolve he sent Mitch for an MRI to see if there was something else causing the deafness. On December 10, 2021 Mitch was diagnosed with a BRAIN TUMOR. Prior to even telling Mitch about the tumor his ear specialist had already sent the copy of the MRI to a Neurosurgeon who he felt would be able to help with this devastating diagnosis. The Tumor is called a Meningioma, and although until it is out, there are no guarantees, the neurosurgeon is confident that it is BENIGN. That being said, it is affecting his frontal lobe, his left eye and vision, his left ear, and the scariest part… it is incasing his carotid artery, which is very dangerous.
Since COVID started our income has been drastically reduced and we were making monthly bills just barely, now with surgery, a hospital stay and the possibility of him going to rehab for up to 6 weeks, not to mention the possibility of a recovery time of up to 6 months, we are terrified of what is going to happen. I was planning on working starting in January but because of COVID if I want to be able to see Mitch at all while he is in the hospital or rehab, I can’t. I am working diligently on getting him disability but sadly our Social Security system sucks… and they don’t always see the urgency in situations.
We already have medical bills coming in, our insurance is okay, but not great and I am anticipating more than $18,000 just to cover the deductible for next years insurance. I need to make sure that when Mitch can come home there is a home to come home to. I need to make sure that we can keep some sense of normalcy and make sure that we can get him home and recovered without too much drama. We have a tiny amount put away for emergencies be we never anticipated an emergency of this magnitude and it is not enough by any means and won’t even cover the deductible. This is a horrible and devastating, not to mention an embarrassing position to be in and I would never put this out here like this, if there was another option. Mitch is mortified about the thought of me even doing this, but although his pride is strong, my commitment to keep us going is stronger.
Mitch will have surgery on Thursday January 6th, at St Joseph’s Hospital is Bryan Texas. We are asking for your love, prayers and anything you can do to help us survive through this horrible time. Our goal is getting the surgery done, so that we can start the road to recovery.
