Help Sharon Beat Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Everyone's favorite mom, midwife, bartender, friend, dinner party host, and competitive scrabble player has been diagnosed with breast cancer. In January they identified two unique masses. She underwent a bilateral lumpectomy in late March. During the surgery, unfortunately, they found the cancer had spread.
This development means that she is facing a much longer and physically taxing treatment plan than we had originally hoped for. She will begin treatment, including radiation and chemotherapy, in the coming weeks.
While Sharon focuses her energy on treatment and healing, she needs our support as well. As a self-employed midwife, she will be unable to work during treatment. Any donations will be used to help offset treatment costs not covered by Medicaid and to cover living expenses while she is unable to work.
Sharon has always had an open door and a seat at her table for anyone in need, even when she herself didn't have much to give. My sincere hope is we can reciprocate that kindness and show her that her community is here to support her through this tough time.
