MJBL/Bahamas Relief
Donation protected
Metropolitan Junior Baseball League, Richmond, VA, has started a relief fund for those affected by Hurricane Dorian.
I urge you to join the young men of the Metropolitan Junior Baseball League (MJBL), based out of Richmond, Virginia in their endeavor to raise money in support of the relief effort to aid the Bahamian people that have suffered through the devastation of Hurricane Dorian. These young men have formed a strong bond with players of MJBL affiliate, Freedom Farm Baseball League, (FFBL) in Nassau, Bahamas. This bond was established when a MJBL all-star team traveled to Nassau this past January, during the MLK Jr. holiday to play against FFBL. Seeing the devastation that occurred in the Bahamas on television and on social media prompted these young men, their families and coaches to take action to be a part of the relief effort. Local television stations WTVR CBS 6, WRIC ABC 8, and the Richmond Flying Squirrels, the San Francisco Giants AA affiliate have all join forces to get the word out on this relief aid effort. All monies raised will be sent to the office of Captain Stephen Russell, Director of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), covering the expense of the trucking company and relief supplies sent to Miami, and then loaded them to a ship and sent to the Bahamas.
