Support Matt's Road to Recovery

Dear Friends and Family,

I’m reaching out to share details about a challenging situation involving my brother-in-law, Matthew Mallinger.

I truly believe that it would be incredibly hard to find someone more generous and caring than Matt. No matter his own circumstances, he would willingly give you the shirt right off his back if you needed it.

His number one priority in life is his family, especially his kids—my niece and nephew, Sistine and Sedona. Right now, they need our support as he faces a serious health crisis.

Matt has been diagnosed with encephalitis, a condition that causes severe brain inflammation and has led to hallucinations and other debilitating symptoms. The seriousness of this illness cannot be overstated, as it carries a significant mortality rate and requires immediate and ongoing medical attention.

Unfortunately, Matt does not have health insurance, despite working tirelessly—often logging more than overtime hours—as a mold removal specialist for a contracting company in the Twin Cities area. It’s crucial that he takes the necessary time to rest and recover in the hospital so he can return to work ready to provide for his family.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover Matt's medical expenses and support his family during this trying time. Because Matt does not have medical insurance, this is going to be an incredibly expensive process.
