Becky noticed March 7 her left nipple was inverted so she did a self examination of her breast. She found what felt like a relatively good sized lump.
Tuesday afternoon she went to her family doctor who did an exam and then sent a referral to have a mammogram done.
Wednesday morning she had a mammogram done followed by an ultrasound of the left breast. She knew something was wrong the minute the ultrasound tech asked her if she had to work that day, in the middle of my exam. Dr came in and said they found an abnormal mass that they're very concerned about and would need to do a biopsy to get samples of the mass.
Thursday afternoon she had the biopsy done.
Becky had to wait 3-5 business days for the results. With the weekend in between those days, it feels like it'll be forever.

March 15 Becky got a call……You have brest cancer.

Words you never want to hear from the doctor. Well, that's exactly what she heard that day.

March 18th she meet her Oncologist for the 1st time. She found out that it was stage 2 as far as they knew.

March 22nd she meet with a general surgeon to explore all her options. With breast cancer running in the family, She decided that day that her treatment will be a double mastectomy followed by plastic surgery for some new boobs. She is only 40 years old and the surgeon said that the the chance of it returning increases 5% every year so she could very well get it again in her lifetime.

March 25th Becky had genetic testing done to she if it genetic so she can protect and inform her 2 girls!

March 28th she had an MRI done to see if cancer had spread to the lymph nodes. Good news it hasn’t!

Friday she will meet with her surgeon to get a date set to start the procedure of her Double Masectomy

As you can see, she has missed a lot of work and will be off work for awhile during her procedure and healing time. She will then wait to see if she will need either chemotherapy or radiation.

She will be off work and has 2 girls under the age of 18 and anything we can do to take the financial burden off of her is helpful!

Thank you so much!

I will update as more information comes from doctors.
