Survival fund for trans femme in Nigeria

I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of a trans femme in Nigeria. Read their story below:

I’m a nonbinary transfemme. I live in Nigeria where queerness is vilified and criminalized. Transphobia in Nigeria has put my life in danger and affects my ability as a transfeminine person to go about daily life.

This fundraiser was originally for hrt but I ended up spending most of the money on housing. Ever since I left home due to an abusive queerphobic environment and my parents threatening to put me in conversion therapy, queerphobia has meant that my housing situation has been unstable.

A few weeks ago, I was the victim of a targeted violent transmisogynistic assault carried out by stalkers. I am in urgent need of temporary housing away from said stalkers, financial support to replace items destroyed by my attackers and most importantly, safe housing for the long term.

Beyond immediate survival, this fundraiser will cover hrt and monitoring for it, laser hair removal, reproductive healthcare as well as other gender affirming things like clothing, wigs, makeup etc. Because of my struggles with housing, I ended up having to fund my transition through survival sex work and I don’t want that to be the case. Additionally, I’d like to further my career as an indie artist by getting some recording equipment and paying for singing lessons.
