We are MK & Ash Kelly and we are from Lansing, MI.
We are identical transgender twins.
Our entire live's we knew there was something different about us, starting at a very young age (3) we began to ask people to refer to us as masculine names and began presenting more masculine. We weren't sure why we were so uncomfortable with the gender we were assigned at birth. We were both diagnosed with gender identity disorder by therapists, and about a year ago we began hormone therapy.
As we end our first year on testosterone happier than we've ever been before, we are ready for the next step in transitioning.
We have been approved by our doctor and our surgeon to get top surgery after our one year on testosterone. But after the devastating news that our insurance does not cover gender reassignment surgeries, we are turning to the internet to help us raise money for our surgeries.
With $15,000 we will be able to cover the cost of both of our surgeries and our couple night stay in Cleveland, OH.
We would like to raise this money by October, but will patiently wait as long as we have to so that we can move foward in transitioning, and just be happier with ourselves.
