Jayde’s fight
Donation protected
I have set up this go fund me page for my sister Jayde Dilley who has been suffering all her life with a very rare life threatening illness Diamond Blackfan Anemia. Jayde is roughly one of the hundred people in the UK with this disease. This is where her body doesn’t produce red blood cells due to bone marrow failure, to date she has had over 400 blood transfusions, 3 different trips in intensive care, survived multiple cases of sepsis and her heart has failed twice. Jayde recently got engaged but came home to the bad news that her condition has worsened and to save her life she needs a bone marrow transplant or her condition will eventually turn into Lukemia as well.
Luckily Jayde’s amazing doctors have found her a bone marrow match and she will be starting the bone marrow transplant at the end of September/ early October. The bone marrow transplant involves intense chemotherapy and radiotherapy, at-least 2 months in hospital, 3 months spent in her house not being able to go outside her front door, 12 months not being able to work or go in busy public areas to make sure she does not get infections and 18 months not being allowed to work. If this is successful this could cure Jayde forever, however there is a 30% chance it will not work.
The main reason for this page is to raise a little bit of money to help Jayde and Shaun financially whilst she is out of work and Shaun is taking a small time out to care for her. The last thing on Jayde’s mind should be money worries but unfortunately it is as they moved into there home 1 year ago and now has the responsibility to keep up with there monthly outgoings.
Jayde has experienced so much in her 23 years of life and I would like to try and help her ease her mind and worries financially whilst she is going through this transplant.
Thanks you for reading x
