MLK MURAL RESTORATION

In the early morning of January 17th, on MLK Day, the beloved mural of Dr. King located on MLK Way and East Cherry was vandalized. This mural has been a part of our community since 1995. The mural was touched up in 2015 by the original artist James Crespinel. The damage to the mural is so severe that it needs to be completely restored. The owners of Fat’s Chicken and Waffles have been in touch with Mr. Crespinel who currently resides in New Mexico and he is willing to come up and restore the mural! The funds will be used to cover the costly expenses to have the mural restored. This GoFundMe is being set up by the community with permission from Fat’s to help raise funds. Any amount is greatly appreciated!!!
