MLL Minors All-Stars State Tournament

*Edit* I hate to move the goalpost... but we've raised nearly $2,000 in under 24 hours. I knew our community would step up, but i didn't know it would be so fast!!

This group of 13 ladies have worked their butts off all season. They battled tough teams and terrible weather. They defied the odds after losing the first game of the District 4 Tournament by winning the next 6 to bring home the banner.

What's next? Our Lady Mustangs are heading to the State Tournament to battle the best teams from around the state. This year's Tournament is in Ellsworth. First game is on Saturday July 15th. It's a double elimination tournament so they plan to be there for most of a week.

Ellsworth is not a cheap area to be in this time of year. Hotel costs were outside the budget range for the families. One of the team's moms has secured a discounted rate for rooms in Bangor. Nevertheless... with rooms, food, and gas... each family is facing costs of well over a thousand dollars per family.

We're asking area businesses for help but we need your help too. I know we'll never raise enough money to cover everyone's costs, but I'm hoping to a raise a little just to ease the burden some. Money will be distributed evenly between the 14 families involved (gotta show love for the coaches too). If by some chance we are able to raise more than we need, all remaining money will go to Massabesic Little League and towards our 400+ ball players next season.

Throughout the All Star run, Mustang Pride has shown up in force. The MLL fans have poured onto the sidelines night in and night out showing their support. While many of our friends, family, and fans cannot make the trip to Ellsworth... we hope you show your support with a few bucks to help our ladies out as they take on the best in the state and get to have an experience of a lifetime. Every little bit will help!
