Please help Mohammed and his family!

A few days ago, Mohammed got in touch with me on Instagram, and with great difficulty and lots of google translate between us, he told me his story.

Before the war, Mohammed was like any other young adult—he was an accounting student with dreams with a loving family and a bright future ahead of him. A year ago his life was taken away from him. His home in northern Gaza was destroyed in the conflict, forcing him to flee to Deir al-Balah and his father was martyred. Today, Mohammed lives in a tent with his mother, his sister, and her children, all of them struggling to survive.

The prices of basic necessities in Gaza have skyrocketed. To put things into perspective, a carton of eggs costs $73.80 and 1kg of tomatoes costs $54.60

The rising prices make it nearly impossible for families like Mohammed's to meet their basic needs. These numbers are not just statistics—they are the grim reality of survival in a war-torn place where everything has been stripped away from them.

This morning, we had a video call where he showed me how dire his living situation is. The world ooh’d and ahh’d when we heard about cardboard beds at the Olympics. But for people living in refugee tents, this is a daily reality.

Mohammed just turned 22 last week, but instead of celebrating a birthday filled with hope and promise, he is fighting for his family’s survival. His story, sadly, is not unique in Gaza, but it is one that I feel compelled to share because he is not just a number or a faceless victim.

Mohammed could be your friend, your son, your brother, and he desperately needs our help.
