MMBRH Radio Highlights- Live Album
Donation protected
Hello music lovers!
Here's a chance to support the New Orleans music community and also get to listen to some fabulous live original tunes! (And a good deal of objectively-witty banter....)
I host the radio show 'Musicians, Mentors, and Barroom Heroes' on WHIV 102.3 FM, a community station dedicated to human rights, social justice, and all things New Orleans. I'm in the process of making a live album of some of the highlights (& low-lifes...) from our first year on-air!
100% of the profits will go to charity (to be evenly divided between WHIV--a non-profit that does wonders for our community--and the New Orleans Musicians' Clinic, in honor of our dear friend "Washboard" Lissa Driscoll, who passed away last year.)
The CD will feature tracks by local artists punctuated by bar stories, porn stories, gas station snacks, clinking glasses, and/or various other tidbits of on-air mayhem. (We're a fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants, all-inclusive weekly fiesta that's "like your living room... if you live at Checkpoint Charlie's." So maybe it's more like your laundry room... Some sort of slice of local life, at any rate...)
Money from this gofundme will cover production, shipping of rewards, and licensing costs (and gofundme fees.) If we hit $2200, we can make a 10 song CD, but I would REALLY love to hit $2700 and be able to make a double album that can include even more awesome New Orleans musicians (...and mentors... and barroom heroes...)
Performances slated to appear so far on the one-CD version include original tunes generously donated by Jean Bayou, Rose Cangelosi, Patrick Cooper, Andre Lovett, Natasha Sanchez, Shawn Williams, and Bob Worth, and a group sing-a-long jam led by the one and only Judy Hill. Plus, words of wisdom (or something) from Pizza Mike, Nervous Duane, Washboard Lissa, Red DeVecca, Stacey Bridewell, and a whole smorgasbord of others....
Thank you for your support! (And tune in! Every Thursday, 7-9pm. 102.3 FM New Orleans and streaming online worldwide at whivfm.org.)
P.S. These were recorded live on-air with only one audio track and yours truly managing the levels/mics/etc... Any audio crappiness is due to me, the recording equipment, & the rough n tumble nature of live radio, not the artists :) Buy all of these guys' actual albums too!
