In 2008, shortly after his wedding to his highschool sweet-heart, Jordan was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. He was 24. The news devastated his family. There have been some victories, like the birth of their beautiful daughter Emma, and Jordan graduating with his History degree, despite his struggle. During this time he also went through many rounds of chemo, brain surgery and radiation. In 2013, his family enjoyed about a year of Jordan being cancer free (after his brain surgery and radiation), only to be devastated again in December of 2014 when we learned it had returned more aggressively. When we were younger, it seemed I could protect my little brother from everything (spankings, girls, bullies, you name it). Now I realize how powerless I am to protect him. I think at one point I was my brother's hero, but now he and his wife are mine. If you were to meet him, you would never know what he is dealing with. He is funny, positive, and never complains about anything. He takes care of his 1 year old daughter every day even though he deals with many challenges. His wife works as a teacher and is a powerhouse like I've never seen before. She is brave, strong, caring, patient and an AMAZING mother and wife. I am so grateful for her.
