MN Soccer Student Athlete Headed to Europe

Help Me Achieve My Dream of Playing Soccer in Europe!

Hello there,

My name is Angelo Marino, and I am reaching out to you today with an exciting opportunity. I am on a mission to represent either FC Schalke 04 in Germany or FC Malaga City in Spain (received my offers yesterday and today, July 12) and become the first-ever soccer student athlete from Minnesota to train and play with either team. Each team as a long history of providing players with the opportunity to get invited to "pro trials" where teams invite players to work and train with them for a week before signing them. With only 10 days remaining, I am determined to raise $25,000 to fund this incredible journey and secure my spot on one of these prestigious teams.

Allow me to provide you with some background about myself. In the Spring of my seventh grade year played on the Olympic Development Program (ODP) team and traveled with them to Ohio to compete. I was a Coach In Training with the Sanneh Foundation for multiple summers, teaching young kids how to play soccer. I also volunteered at the Gala 4 Goals, Sanneh Foundation event to raise money for their city and soccer programs. In eighth grade, I tried out and made the Edina high school soccer team (extremely rare). That season, I scored 9 goals, a feat that opened doors for me. I played on the first season of MLS Next with Minnesota Thunder Academy (MTA) that year as well. I was accepted into the renowned Shattuck St. Mary's MLS Next team, where I continued to excel throughout my freshman and sophomore years of high school. Last year, I had the privilege of playing for Barca Academy in Arizona. However, due to personal family reasons, I made the difficult decision to return to Minnesota, where I immediately joined FC Minneapolis. Despite being just 16 years old, I competed against players as old as 27 years and proved my skills on the field. Following that season, I took another leap forward and joined Salvo FC, playing a year up on the U18 team. Our team achieved remarkable success, winning the Minnesota State Championship in May of this year and representing our state in regionals held in St. Louis, Missouri.

I am humbly reaching out to you today, as your donation and support can make all the difference in helping me achieve my dream.
