The Body Serve tennis podcast is celebrating its 10th anniversary this January! We’re proud to say we’re still here, remaining independent and transparent about our biases (because everybody has them). Our stakeholders are our listeners -- your generosity has allowed us to expand the show and travel for tennis, and you’ve challenged us to stay honest and accountable about what we say and how we say it.
We are a gay couple living in Toronto who, in 2015, decided to start a podcast about our shared love for tennis. We were never interested in too much technical analysis, but instead in the sport’s intersections with the world around it, including: the place of tennis tennis in pop culture; the influence of social movements; the business of tennis and what it owes its fans; and how race, gender, class, and money interact with the sport. We’ve always been big Rafa and Williams sisters fans, and we prefer women’s tennis to men’s -- no use hiding those facts -- but we don’t think biases need to be limitations. We take a long and broad look at tennis that’s situated in history and can often be uncomfortable.
Because of you all, in the past year we were able to travel to Miami, Charleston, the US Open, and of course our hometown event in Toronto to cover tennis. In 2025, we’re planning some exciting tennis travel, equipment upgrades, and more longform historical episodes which take time to research and produce.
If you like what we do and want to show your appreciation or help us do more of it, this GoFundMe is the way to do that. Only donate if you can and want to! We’re so grateful to our listeners not only for your financial support but also for the unique community you’ve helped us to create.
For a sampling of what we do, you can find our longform historical episodes here . We also cover the tours, tennis business, and off-court happenings on a regular basis. Our episodes are hosted on Podbean and are available on the major podcast apps, including Spotify and Apple.
