Losing A Sister
Donation protected
The picture to this campaign is of my wife and her sister some 30 years ago. My wife's baby sister, on the right, has left us after only nearly 33 years. She left suddenly and without warning. This was not her fault or her choosing. She was a 'tough as hell', in your face ,firecracker with a heart of gold. But as hard as she fought and as hard as the medical staff, who knew her, fought it was more then she could bare. She has two beautiful heart broken children not much older then their mother and aunt in the picture. They witnessed much of the resesitory efforts. I'm 39 and would be devastated to lose my mother. I cannot imagine the impact this will have on these two beautiful souls. I'm no psychologist but I know that these two are at a critical point in their lives and I feel a sense of responsibility and obligation to help them. Funeral costs are going to be an expense that most of us in our thirties have not planned for. But cost will not prevent one from happening. How about counseling? Family vacation? Bills that were set up comfortably and responsibly to a two income budget?
These kids have an abundance of family supporting them. Wonderful people including firefighters, nurses, emts, clergy, grandparents, aunts and uncles. But no mother.
All of the support stated have their own bills, kids, hardships and tragedies. And long after the burial the three of them will only have each other to lean on.
I want all of us to set them up for success and raise enough money to pay for their counseling so that they have all of the tools needed to thrive and succeed and learn to function like the whole family they no longer are.
So please give anything you can. There is no donation that is too small.
