Mobility Scooter - for MS sufferer
Donation protected
Hi there, my name is Fiona, I am fundraising on behalf of our eldest daughter Melissa -
Coming up to three years since our eldest daughter was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis on her 30th birthday. Melissa was an active lady, enjoying travelling, wild swimming and all manner of social activities - she became ill whilst travelling to the last 5 countries across the Baltic states and Scandinavia to hit her 30 countries before 30. Upon returning home she deteriorated, resulting in a hospital admission on her 30th birthday - the many scans and tests leading to the diagnosis of MS.
Since that devastating episode Melissa has received great treatment which has reduced the progression of the disease, though, as with many MS sufferers she encounters frequent episodes of extreme fatigue - these impact on many daily activities that most of us take for granted. She has had home adaptations to assist her with these activities, but she still struggles with episodes of pain and spasticity issues; and therefore limited mobility.
It is this mobility that we would like to address by the way of appealing for funds towards a mobility scooter which will help Melissa maintain a level of independence. We would really appreciate any kind donations that would help Melissa with her target of £1000 which will help her to continue with her social activities and travelling. Any excess donations will be shared with the MS Society to assist others with this disabling disease.
