HIP HIP HOORAY! TARGET ACHIEVED IN JUST OVER 48 HOURS! CAMPAIGN REMAINS OPEN FOR DONATIONS
A little over 2 years ago the Board of Management embarked on a modernisation programme of our school building. The goal was to create a modern school fit for purpose and where good learning and teaching can continue to take place for many years to come. The new preschool facility was a catalyst which allowed the primary school to redevelop.
The goal is now almost complete and €800,000 will have been spent on the complete modernisation of Ballintubber NS. This includes our most recent successful grant applications to the Department of Education.
New gas heating system: €116,000.
Rewiring & installation of all LED lighting: €60,000
The developments are already having an impact as our school-going population is growing and families from neighbouring areas are becoming part of our school community by choosing Ballintubber NS.
School finances are always tight and our annual bucket collection could not go ahead which left a deficit of €3,500. In order to put the finishing touches to the new school a small amount of funding will need to come from the school community and those in support of it. .
The range of items for this funding to cover includes: furniture, shelving, floor coverings and other components to support modern teaching in a bright colourful, safe and stimulating environment.
The school is a beating heart of the community and we hope that the community can come together again to support this fantastic development. Let us finish off this project properly for the benefit of all our children for many years to come.
Work can be seen from the road continuing at pace and our aim is the development will be completed by Easter 2021.
We all need something to look forward to and we will have a well deserved and much needed community celebration day in recognition of the new development when it is safe and permitted to do so.
