Modoc Helping Brad & Pam Williams
Brad and Pam Williams have been Modoc County residents for almost 40 years. They own the local Quick Lube and volunteer countless hours to help our community. Pam has been fighting multiple health issues this year and has been in and out of the hospital. Medicare does not cover some of Pam's medical expenses, the most recent of which is a feeding tube that will cost about $11,000.00 per month. Brad took out their retirement to private pay and still had a hard time finding a hospital that would admit her. Pam was admitted into the UC Davis Hospital on June 27th. Doctors are watching progress with the feeding tube to assess her ability to handle the operation she desperately needs to heal her.
If this wasn't enough stress and financial strain, the transmission went out on their pickup on the way down to the hospital. A new transmission will cost $7,000 that they do not have to spend right now.
We know that Modoc County has been blessed by the dedication, selflessness and generosity that Brad and Pam have given to their community and County. For years, Pam has served as a Modoc Medical Center Auxiliary volunteer for over 12 years, where she coordinated the hospital gift shop and greeted incoming patients and guests. Pam also worked as an instructional aid for the Modoc County Office of Education.
Brad is a former Captain and member of the Modoc County Sheriff's Posse for over twenty years. He is actively involved in the Search and Rescue team and has personally found several lost residents including just a few weeks ago when he found a lost 7 year old boy in Upper Cal Pines. Brad is also a volunteer firefighter with Alturas Rural Fire Department and an EMT.
The Modoc County Sheriff's Posse is spearheading fundraisers to help relieve some of the stress on the family. Any donations go directly to Brad and Pam. Donations will help cover travel, lodging, food, medical bills and lab fees. The Posse will also be selling tickets for a chance at a shotgun, 3 cords of wood or a kayak at events throughout the summer!
The thing that makes Modoc County so great are the people. People just like Brad and Pam that give back day-after-day and expect nothing in return. If you see it in your heart to support them, please donate to this campaign. If you'd like to donate in person, you can bring it to the Modoc County Sheriff's Office Annex at 211 E. First Street in Alturas, CA.
