Mohammad's New Start in America
Donation protected
In 2017, I visited the Azraq Refugee camp near Amman, Jordan. There I met Mohammad: a young Syrian boy, who was sixteen years old. We were so similar in so many ways, we were the same age and we had the same sense of humor; yet our lives had panned out very differently.
Because of the War in Syria, Mohammad's father was killed and his family had to flee their country becoming refugees in the UNHCR camp in Jordan. Mohammad became responsible for his entire family; his mother and three sisters.
After meeting Mohammad and witnessing his strength, I was left with a burning question: How could someone my own age be placed in such a different circumstance, be completely prevented from realizing his dreams, while I was given the privilege to follow them?
When will Mohammad ever get out?
It has now been Seven Years since our encounter, and Mohammad is still in the Camp.
Still, not all remains the same. Mohammad met his beautiful wife Ghofran, and has now welcomed into this world a baby boy, Abdullah.
Now, we all have the chance to change the life of Mohammad and his new family. Through the WelcomeCorps programme of the US government, myself and a team are sponsoring Mohammad's arrival to the United States. But we need help from you!
Please donate as much as you can to help Mohammad come to America and start his new life .
We need funds for his application to be approved, so that he can afford such items as rent, clothing, groceries and transportation, as well as all the other costs that come with living in America.
Your generosity is directly linked to changing the whole life of an entire family. We thank you very much.
