In Memory of Mohmed-Talha Tailor

As Salaamu-Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

Friends and family of Talha Tailor have set up this page in the hopes of contributing to a charitable cause (Sadaqah Jariyah) in his memory.

Talha's Story:

On Wednesday April 3, 2024, the 23rd day of Ramadhan, Hafiz Talha Tailor returned to his creator at the age of 20 through a tragic car accident in Chicago.

Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioon.

"Surely we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return"

The eldest brother of 5 and the light of his parents eyes: he was a radiant soul and nothing short of the centerpiece of his household.

Navigating through this hideous grief that shattered our hearts, we find some solace firstly, in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, then, from his friends, teachers and the community who remember him for the fun-loving, caring and generous young man that he was.

We remain in awe of the man he was becoming and hearing endless stories of his beautiful character only confirms what we knew him to be. We continue to be reminded of his humble nature and soft heart which extended beyond his family and friends.

Always dignified, polite, respectful and with a smile that would captivate your heart, his life though brief completed ours. While his spirit, laughter and smile can never be replaced, we aim to fill the emptiness he has left behind with worship and good deeds so great that their reward will benefit and follow him to the next life.

It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: Ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who prays for him."

Thus, we aim to eternalize Talha’s deeds.

What is Sadaqah Jariyah?

Sadaqah Jariyah is an ongoing charity. It is one of the most rewarding deeds we can do for our loved ones so they can continue to gain blessings once they have passed.

In Islam, there are many acts which can lead to immeasurable blessings– both today and in our Hereafter; these acts are commonly referred to as Sadaqah Jariyah.

Sadaqah Jariyah is an act of giving in a way that keeps on giving. For example, water well projects are one act of charity that keep multiplying -bringing ongoing benefit and reward. As a result, when a community has water we witness families grow food, healthy children attend schools, clean hospitals … and the list goes on.
