Moj hikes Mt Everest for Afghan Women & Children
Tax deductible
The women of Afghanistan have lost their voices- they've lost their basic rights to education, work and freedom of expression.
Many girls had the dream of completing their school education or obtaining their university degree; however in August 2021 these dreams were shattered and their lives have turned upside down. Females can no longer enjoy hobbies such as playing sports, enjoying music and going for walks in the park. The mental health of afghan girls and women has severely been impacted leading to 1/2 suicides daily due to their desperation to be freed from the reality of their life.
A decree was made banning women from working in international and national non-governmental organisations. Many of these women are the bread winners for their family thus this has worsened the circumstance for many families in a time where the people of Afghanistan are suffering one of the world's largest and most severe hunger crises. Many humanitarian organisations can no longer help work in Afghanistan due to the decree banning women working.
As an Afghan woman, I feel particularly heart broken by this reality. By chance I was born and raised in the UK, allowing me to achieve my dreams of education and experience life with no boundary. Otherwise I could easily be in their situation. I will be climbing Mount Everest Base Camp and I want to use my freedoms to raise awareness and money to help them.
I'm raising money in aid of Women for Afghan Women and every donation will help.
The charity helps people in Afghanistan with:
- children support centres - children are provided care/support, counselling and education
- humanitarian work - humanitarian packages with food and other necessary items are delivered to the most vulnerable families in Afghanistan
100% of all donations are used to support the children support centres and humanitarian work.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
