Get Mojo Better and Keep Him Home

Moj came into my life 1.5 years ago and changed it for the better, however in those 1.5 years we’ve battle many vet bills and expenses. Expenses I was not prepared for. To start, Mojo needed tie back surgery to fix a severe breathing issue. We battled that hurdle and came back to have a very successful first show season together, qualifying for Region 8 Dressage Championships at Training and First level. Before making it to championships Mojo starting displaying intermittent lameness and an overall miserable demeanor. He was in pain everywhere and wanted nothing to do with anyone. Thousands of dollars in diagnostics later we discovered he has something called PSSM1 which affects his muscles. Luckily it can be maintained through diet and exercise. Fast forward a couple months and he is back to his absolute miserable self. Another vet visit and a specialist visit and we decide to check for ulcers (a second time) we find very bad ulcers, treat and I think I can finally start to bring him back to work after what seems like the longest winter of my life.

I am now battling a foot abcess that left a giant hole in his frog and led us to infection. We are already 2 vet visits in and still fighting to keep him out of the hospital. If the hole goes any deeper we risk damaging further internal structures which could lead to further injuries. We are also risking his other hind leg as that one is bearing all his weight right now.

this horse is incredibly special to me. I’m fighting everything I have to keep him with me as he had a rough start to life living in amish country. I’ve drained my 401k and my savings accounts and I have nothing left. Any little bit helps
