Mold remediation/medical funds for the Malleys

This fund has been established in support of the Malley family – Ben & Monica and their 3 kids: Lyle (8), Harvey (5) and Otis (2). Over the past two years, this diligent and modest family has experienced a number of back-to-back hardships.
In recent months, the family has had 4 trips to the emergency room! Monica has been suffering from multiple severe skin issues including several staph infections in the form of large skin abscesses, requiring lancing or removal. She has also been enduring eczema in her hands with flair ups producing blistering and burning. In December, their basement fireplace randomly came loose and landed on Otis’s leg, shattering his ankle. After an ER visit and initial splint while the swelling and pain went down, he’s now in a cast and will require follow up care and recovering well.
Most recently, the basement of their home tested high for mold and is considered unsafe. Monica and the younger boys vacated the home immediately to avoid further health risks. Ben and Lyle remain in the home for now to follow normal work and school schedules. They have an air purifier running and wear a mask if they need to be in the basement. Ben is starting to meet with contractors and work through a mold remediation plan. The process will take several months to remove the contamination and rebuild.
