Molly McGuinness after being critically ill

Molly McGuinness is an incredible comedian, writer and all round local legend. Molly is adored by everyone who has ever met her and she is an integral part of the North West comedy scene.

Sadly in December just before Christmas, Molly was rushed into hospital with chest pains, this turned out to be a rare complication of tonsillitis which became pneumonia and then sepsis in her lungs. She was in intensive care and was put into an induced coma for 9 days and had a tracheostomy fitted. The doctors have since stated that at one point she was the illest patient in the whole of Manchester's ICU.

This was an incredibly scary period for those close to Molly, but it looks like she is now on the mend. She has fully gained consciousness, her voice is back, her brain is ok, and she has recently been discharged from hospital.

Molly's body is still damaged and it will take her a long time to recover, due to this she will not be able to work for the foreseeable future. This means that Molly has no income whatsoever and may struggle to pay her rent. No one should be facing this kind of financial pressure whilst trying to recover from such a serious illness but given how much we all love Molly we’re simply not going to let that happen!
