Sometimes God puts people in our lives unexpectedly and those people become family. That’s what happened when I met Molly, Jerrah and Jerica. Molly was so proud of her girls. Jerrah was approaching her senior year of high school and Jerica her first year of college. She couldn’t be more proud. A few weeks before school was to begin, Molly went into cardiac arrest, which caused brain damage. She had been hospitalized and unable to communicate since then. At key stages in their lives, the girls were without their mom to celebrate the milestones they discussed. The girls continued to persevere through school under very difficult circumstances. They would travel to the hospital to sit at their mother’s bedside and pray that she improved. Sadly, on March 3, 2024, Molly passed away.

Molly was a Christian who loved her children very much. Friends describe her as smart and fun to be around. One friend wrote, “she loved her children more than anything in this world.” If you met the girls, you would understand why. Jerrah and Jerica are both beautiful, kind and intelligent young ladies. Jerrah dreams of attending college at Young Harris in the Fall. She loves the country so the beautiful and peaceful landscape of the campus immediately drew her in. She was accepted to Young Harris but she will need financial help to make her dream come true. Jerica is in her first year of college at Georgia Gwinnett College. She lived on campus and had to withdraw to deal with her mom’s passing, but she plans to return to become a special education teacher.

Both girls would benefit from financial support overall to assist with their education, counseling, loss of income and other unexpected expenses that come with such a devastating loss like this. Both girls moved in with their father, who will also need to move to a larger apartment so that the girls can finally be settled in a permanent home where there’s space for a family of 3.

Molly would give her last to help anyone and often did, let’s show her girls that same love and support.
