Molly: Our Brave 12-Year-Old Warrior
We wanted to share some tough news about Molly, the 12 year old (yes you heard right, 12 year old!) British Shorthair we were trying to get surrendered to us unfortunately instead of surrendering she was dumped and ended up in the pound, we finally brought her home yesterday, but she’s not in great shape.
THIS is where your “free to good home” cats go!
Probably used as a breeding machine all her life and when finished with her and finally desexed given away to someone who gave 0 shits about her who then dumps her a year later.
Here’s what we found during her first vet visit:
- Her nails are curled into both front paws, and one is so bad that the flesh is rotting. She received an antibiotic shot to help with that.
- She has severe dental issues.
- There’s a mass in her mouth.
- She has a mammary tumor on her side.
- She’s covered in fleas, as usual.
- One of her feet is bleeding after removing the nail imbedded into it, and our vet advised us to leave it unwrapped for now.
We don’t know what her future holds, but we are committed to doing everything we can for her because she deserves a chance at a happy life. However, her treatment has been be costly, and we could really use your support during this difficult time.

This past week has been a busy one for our sweet girl, Molly.
She underwent X-rays and today had a dental procedure, during which she had a mammary mass removed that has been sent off to the lab for testing to determine if it’s benign or cancerous.
Additionally, a gum mass was removed. Molly will require check-ups every 6 months to ensure that both areas remain mass-free and nothing regrows.
On top of this, her foot is healing well after battling flesh-eating bacteria from an injured paw. This old girl has been through so much, and we hope to give her the rest of her life filled with love and free from pain. ❤️
So far, Molly’s vet work has exceeded $1,000 in less than two weeks!
