Molly Ruppert is a 37 year old wife, mother of 3 and nurse who had only started her nursing career less than a year before it was derailed. She was diagnosed with cancer in March. She was 1st told it was probably Stage 1 or 2 and the prognosis was excellent. She could possibly return to work at Penn State Rehabilitation Hospital in Hershey in a few months. In the blink of an eye everything changed. Further testing showed it had spread to 2 lymph nodes and then they found spots on her liver. They told her it was Stage 4. She was looking at 8 rounds of chemo, 5 weeks of radiation combined with chemo and then surgery including a possible liver resection.

She was devastated... for a day or so. That's about all the self pity she allowed herself. Then she did what she always does when faced with insurmountable obstacles. She prayed.

That's what she did 15 years ago when her 9 month old baby girl, Hunter Marie was diagnosed with neuroblastoma . She lived at Hershey Medical Center and she prayed while her daughter went through multiple surgeries and rounds of chemo.
She saw what The Lord can do, as she watched while He healed her baby and she knew He would heal her now, so she prayed.

For the next few years, raising her children with her husband, Chad, she worked part time here and there, but kept feeling like she was being pulled to do something. She got her CNA and worked in a nursing home. Soon Molly realized the pull was still there and began to recognize what it was. She enrolled in nursing school. It took her 6 long years to get her RN going to school part time, working part time and mothering all the time. Many times she wasn't sure if could do it, so she prayed. Many times she wanted to give up, so she prayed, all the while feeling like this is what God was leading her to. With His help, she graduated and became a Registered Nurse. Just as she was coming up on her 1st year anniversary at her current job she got her diagnoses, so she prayed and continues to pray.

Molly doesn't waste time feeling sorry for herself .She asks nothing for herself from others, besides prayers. She had her 8th round of chemo recently, and is set to begin the next phase of treatment next week. Her last scan gave encouraging results. It showed tumors were shrinking. She is very optimistic that God has his hand on her and her treatment will lead to complete healing.

Unfortunately, what this is doing to her financial situation is another kind of devastation. She hasn't been at her job long enough to be eligible for disability pay. She's worked through her treatment as much as she can, so she can keep her health insurance in force. But the more chemo she has the weaker she becomes and continuing to work isn't feasible.  Covid-19 closed the restaurant Chad just started working in so he's not eligible for unemployment compensation. After reopening for a week, the restaurant closed again so  Molly and Chad have no money coming in and 3 children to support. They've gone through all of their savings. Still Molly doesn't ask anyone for anything. So we are asking for her. Her medical bills are mounting along with daily living expenses. Her medical insurance is almost $600 a month that she can no longer pay.

If you feel lead to give, it is greatly appreciated.  Your generosity can help lighten the load. Any amount you can offer would be more helpful than you will ever know. If you are unable to donate, please pray for Molly and share her story.  God bless you and your families during this difficult time and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!
