Molly’s Emergency Spinal Surgery
Donation protected
Last week our 9 year old dog Molly had a disc rupture in her spine. The debris went into her spinal canal which caused paralysis of her hind legs, loss of bladder control and extreme pain. She was able to have emergency surgery before she permanently lost function of her hind legs. The surgery thankfully went well and they were able to remove the disk debris. She still isn't able to walk on her own yet. She has very limited function of her hind legs but we are hoping her leg function comes back within the next couple weeks. She has 6 weeks of strict bed rest to ensure her spine is able to heal properly and she has physical therapy exercises we do with her 3 times a day. Molly is strong and determined and we are confident she’ll make full recovery. We are asking for financial help to cover the costs of her surgery and vet bills.
A little about Molly - she is an energetic dachshund and has a lot of love for our family and life. She loves playing with squeaky toys, barking at the UPS driver and loves to eat. She spends most of her days at a winery supervising and protecting wine quality with her brother Thor. We can't wait to have her back after she's recovered.
