Molly's Heart Needs Your Kind Support

Donation protected
Hello fellow friends of Molly McCarthy.

As you know, Molly has a genetic disorder which has placed her in heart failure. It's a disorder that she inherited from her wonderful father, Joe, who passed away at 56 from heart failure. Once she found out she was in heart failure, she made dramatic changes in her daily life by swimming, walking, and exercising regularly to strengthen her heart. It's been an incredible journey which has been amazing to watch via her Facebook page. Unfortunately, Molly just found out that her heart is not responding to all of the positive changes she has made in the last year, and her heart continues to decline. She is unable to work as she used to and is struggling financially.

Stress is, for all of us, a negative factor in trying to stay healthy. Financial stress is one of the greatest stressors for many of us, and so it is with Molly. Not only does she have a $9,000 medical deductible for her health insurance, but she just had major vehicle repairs (adding to credit card debt), and the hospital where she had her surgery in January of 2024 just sent her a bill for $3,000. This, on top of all the other expenses, has created deep stress. Her doctors have told her to try to reduce her stress because it directly affects her health/heart.

I've known Molly since about 1997 when my husband, George, introduced me to his best friend, Joe, Molly's dad. I don't speak with her very often, but I follow her Facebook page, which is how I found out about her heart and her subsequent journey. Today, after reading her post where she shared that her heart was not doing what she hoped it would do and is in decline, I decided to call. I asked her if she would let me start a GoFundMe page. Molly is not comfortable, like so many of us, with accepting help, especially financial help, but she is struggling, so she allowed me to start this page.

My first donation is not a large donation due to my own financial situation. You may be able to donate more, or less, due to your financial situation. Together, collectively, I hope we can raise enough money for our friend to help relieve some of that stress. Will you join me? If you're not comfortable with donating money, remember that Molly is a self-taught artist with impossibly unique items that she sells. Do you need a gift for a friend? Do you need a painting for your house? Do you want to learn how to do Mandela art? Do you need a tutor for your child? Remember, Molly was a teacher, and a great one at that, following her mother's (Maureen) footsteps at St. Francis school.

If you aren't following Molly, you can visit her at the following link where she displays and sells her art www.facebook.com/share/1A17dML8Br/, and where you can follow her journey.

Thank you, Karen

P.S. My goal is set for $15,000 however, on the advice of the GoFundMe team, the first goal is set to $5,000. Please don't stop giving.
