Help Develop Counseling in Uganda
Donation protected
For several years, I have been privileged to serve bereaved families as a funeral director. While my role has been rewarding in many ways, I found myself yearning to support families beyond their immediate losses. My desire to "do more" to better serve others led me to pursue a certification in grief counseling and a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling.
As I approach the end of my degree program at Walsh University, I have the unique opportunity to participate in an experience that will allow me to promote counseling in Gulu, Uganda in May 2016. By facilitating group work and advanced counseling skills training, my classmates and I will be able to help this nation better support themselves as they recover from years of internal wars and struggle.
HERE IS WHERE YOU CAN HELP!
The program fee to participate in this life-changing experience is $3,200 for airfare, lodging, meals, ground transportation, visas, and site visits, but it excludes tuition as well as important (but costly) immunizations and supplies. I have been diligently participating in various group fundraising efforts to offset the cost of my trip, but "it takes a village" to make things happen. Every penny helps, and I would truly appreciate any support you may be able to offer!
"Of those to whom much is given, much is expected" is a notion very dear to me, and I look forward to this experience as another way for me to "pay it forward."
THANK YOU for taking the time to visit my page and please feel free to share it with others. Even if you are not able to donate at this time, your encouragement, support, and prayers for our group would be very much appreciated as well. Thanks again!
