Single Mom & 4 kids -Flood Victims

Our names are Michael & Lori Hinson and we live in Katy, Tx.  We  met Priscilla at our church where she was frantically seeking assistance and advice to help her and her children.   From the moment we met Priscilla and heard the tragic events that brought her to us, we have felt compelled to do anything and everything to help her and her beautiful young children. 

Priscilla and her family are in desperate need of our help.  She is a single mom caring for 3 girls (ages 7,9,11) and a 6mth old boy. 

They live in a very low-income area in a rented trailer.  The trailer was flooded by Hurricane Harvey almost to the ceiling and large holes were punctured in several areas of the trailer.  The landlord hasn't been out since the flooding but has told her if she doesn't like the conditions, move out.  

Because they have no place to go, they have moved back into the trailer despite the dangerous mold, poor air quality and significant damage to the trailer.  The two youngest girls are sleeping on a mattress (contaminated in the flooding) with the baby brother.  Priscilla and her oldest daughter have put blankets across a box spring and sleep there.  No bed frames.....directly on the damaged flooring of the trailer. 

Priscilla's car was flooded and insurance won't even cover the amount owed.  Her work place was also flooded so she doesn't have employment even though she desperately wants to work and provide for her children.

We are hoping to immediately get a new or used trailer home for Priscilla and her children so we can get them out of the contaminated environment.

We also need to secure a used vehicle so Priscilla will have transportation allowing her to find another job and help provide for her family. 

We believe a trailer will run $25,000 and a reliable used car approximately $5,000.

We are trying to secure these funds immediately to improve their situation.  Once we close the campaign, we will provide the funds directly to Priscilla and assist her in locating a reliable, inexpensive vehicle and hopefully a trailer home.  If funds aren't sufficient to purchase a trailer home, then we will use that portion of the funds to secure a safe, clean rental apartment or small home.
