Mom Juggling A Lot in Need of Help

Donation protected

My name is Briana, a 32-year-old single mother to a bright 10-year-old daughter who was born 3 months early weighing only 1lb 8oz. I wear many hats: by night, I'm a dedicated 3rd shift animal control officer, ensuring the safety and well-being of our furry friends. By day, I am a full-time computer science major at an accelerated program, aiming to earn my bachelor's degree in simulation and visualization within two years.

My goal is ambitious, but so is my spirit. My teachers and coworkers don't know how I am still standing. I'm currently on track to graduate at the top of my class in just two months! However, this demanding schedule puts immense pressure on my time and resources. Juggling 8-hour classes 3 days a week from 9am to 5pm after a work shift from 12am to 8:30am 5 days a week, followed by picking up my daughter from school at 6pm and squeezing in precious moments together, leaves me with very little sleep. I am currently making a training simulation for animal control officers in the little spare time I have.

It's hard but I love what I do. Back in 2021 I was awarded a medal of merit for my assistance in the resue of cats and dogs from a fire at Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando. I currently have 3 dogs, 2 pit bulls and a Siberian Husky. I brought the 2 pit bulls home from work. I also foster animals who don't have a high chance of survival. As you can see from the photos I provided, people are terrible at times and mistreat animals badly. I've foster 2 puppies from cruelty cases I've worked on. The dark brown pup, who I've dubbed Nino Brown, now lives happily with his new forever family who adores him. The tan pup with light eyes, who I named Ozzy, found his forever home with me. My daughter and I have a huge love for animals. Even though I'm not rich by any means, my doors are always open to any animal in need. I pay for every pet I foster out of my own pocket. It's no fault of the shelter I work for. We are an organization that runs off of donations and I just don't want to take any resources from the pets currently at the shelter.

Recently, my wheels fell off (literally). My car broke down beyond repair, throwing a wrench into my already juggling act. Requesting Ubers to get my daughter to school has drained my already tight budget, forcing me to miss work and classes. Now, the unthinkable looms: I might not be able to fully pay my monthly bills.

On top of this, the weight of student loans, exceeding $100,000, feels like a constant heavy shadow. Despite scholarships and working full-time, it's a struggle to keep up.

Reaching out for help isn't easy, but my daughter's well-being is my top priority. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a world of difference.

Your support will help me:
Purchase a reliable car to safely transport my daughter and get back and forth from work and school.

Cover my immediate rent and avoid eviction.

Contribute towards my student loan debt, easing the financial burden and bringing me closer to a brighter future.

Continue to foster animals most in need.

Every donation signifies hope and belief in my journey. You're not just helping me, you're investing in a mother's determination to build a better life for herself and her daughter. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
