Antioch Childcare Provider Seeks Assistance

 

“Hello my name is Kamilah and I run a family childcare. Kamilah Cares is my motto, always helping and caring for people and kids especially. My path to becoming a business owner has been a rocky one as we’ve fallen subject to homelessness TWICE while getting my degree in Child Development as well as suffered major family losses. (Death of supporting mom and older brother) And helping care for children without funding and support.

As we began to stabilize, Covid happened.

We now run a small family childcare in Antioch named Kamilah Cares 4 Kids, which is a quality safe place for children to learn and grow and parents receive payments from the state. We’ve lost a lot business because of covid and recently due to an error no payments were sent for January and February. This was crippling as we still have pay high rent, utilities and other expenses to operate while waiting. We are trying to recover and pay all late fees as required and maybe one day get ahead in payments or possibly buy a home of our own so that we provide the best service to all in need. “
