Mom of three needs to get work permit!

Hi, my name is Cherith. Summer '23 my husband and I ended up bringing a Venezuelan mom and her three daughters into our home for two months because they had completed their allotted time in the Denver city shelter and had nowhere to go except on the street. We just couldn't let that happen so even though we had only just met them, we invited them to live with us until she could get work and an apartment. In August we co-signed for them to get an apartment because without work or rental history it was extremely hard to find a place for them to rent. Today we are still very involved supporting them, including paying rent if mom doesn't have enough money. All their food comes from food banks, which is a wonderful blessing! Mom is legally in the US with an "A" number, but does not have a work permit. As of a few months ago Venezuelan's are now permitted to apply for Temporary Protective Status (TPS) and work permits. This would be SOOOO helpful because without a work permit she is having a horrible time getting work and finding bosses that actually pay and don't cheat her. The US government asks for $135 per person to apply for TPS (mom and three daughters would be $135 x 4 = $540), and $420 to apply for the work permit. In total this would be $540 + $420 = $960.00. An attorney we know will do the paperwork for the entire family for $1,200.00. I know she can try to do the paperwork without an attorney but I've already helped others who are using this attorney and I really think having the attorney involved helps avoid errors and facilitates a faster process. Work permits come in 6-12 weeks, usually (says the attorney). If we could get ANY help with this cost she and I would be thrilled. I will pay the balance of what we don't get, but I've been spending a lot already and it is really straining my finances so any help would be so greatly appreciated. Once mom gets a work permit there are so many jobs waiting to be had - legally!! Thank you for your consideration.
