Mom's Kidney Transplant Fund

From Jessica Powers:
I’m writing this today in hopes of raising money for my mother. After a long battle with renal failure, my mom is finally on the path to a new life, with a new kidney. She has battled with her kidneys her whole life. She was born premature and, unfortunately, her kidneys never fully developed. Because of this, she eventually had to be put on dialysis. I was young when it first started and, at the time, didn’t fully understand what was happening. I just knew that my mom was sick, and doing these treatments helped her feel better. Now at 25 I’m amazed at everything my mother has been through, all the while trying to raise four children as a single mother. She has been on dialysis for 12 years now and her body has about had all it can handle. Through the years she has battled through multiple stays in the hospital, sometimes for weeks at a time, she has had countless surgeries, a blood clot, dangerous infections, and, most recently, she has been suffering with ascites and was having a procedure every week to drain fluid from her abdomen. Thankfully, my mother has a strong relationship with God and he, along with her family, has helped her fight through it all. She’s been strong for so long, and finally her time has come, and a new kidney is on the horizon. All we ask for now is help in raising money to go towards the cost of her transplant and any expenses for her care afterwards. I know insurance will pay for some of these expenses, but not everything is covered, and, unfortunately, you often don’t know until after the fact. Medicines and such are costly, so anything that can be given would be greatly appreciated.
We thank you and God bless.
