Momma’s Going To Uganda

Donation protected
Hello! Asha here :) If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting my mother then you know what a sweet, joyful and generous woman of God she is. With her permission, I’m hear to tell you a little about her story and one dream of her heart. Mom became a Christian at the age of 5 at a backyard Bible club. A few years after she became a daughter of God, she had the vision of going to Africa as a missionary one day. She faithfully followed Christ through her childhood and went to Moody Bible Institute still intent on becoming a missionary to Africa. However, she met my dad and entered into a relationship where her trajectory was changed to becoming a missionary to India, where my dad is from. Mom spent the next 19 years of her life in ministry while raising a big family. She helped establish an orphanage and church in India; but what most people don’t know is that even though she was in missions she was in an abusive and unhealthy marriage with my dad. In 2009, my dad left our family, and mom stepped into a whole new life in the States where she faced many uncertainties as a single mom of 8 children. She has, and is, raising all 8 of us children to know and love the Lord. She did this as a single mom working full time, spending so much of herself in tears, energy and prayers for us kids. The church has come alongside our family and been such a gift to us. Mom has been so focused on her kiddos and surviving that she had to put on pause the dream that God gave her as a child. If you have talked to mom this year then you know that God has done a healing work in her heart and brought her to a place where she can look ahead with even more hope than before. After months of prayer last fall, she feels that God is telling her to boldly take 2 weeks this spring and pursue her dream of doing missions in Africa! This is just a start to the vision she has had since she was a young girl. Mom, her 3 daughters (Asha, Emma, and Anna), and a teenage family friend (Elizabeth) will be going to Kampala, Uganda, to serve at Sanyu Babies Home. We will work alongside the local community and missionaries from our church to hold and love on the fatherless at Sanyu. While Elizabeth and I are able to cover the cost of our own expenses, mom and my sister need some support to make this dream a reality. Approximate cost of the trip is $1500 per person. Mom, 12 year old Anna, and 14 year old Emma have been working hard by babysitting and fundraising in other ways. God has blessed them with almost 2/3rds of what they need. The remaining balance they need to be able to go is $1985. We have only three weeks before our trip to raise the remaining money for Mom, Emma, and Anna. If you would like to join in on making this a reality, we would so appreciate any amount to get Mom to Uganda! *if you’re looking to give a tax deductible gift please contact Calvary Community Church in a Williams Bay WI about giving through the non profit account set up for mom
