Moments of Hope is based in Cali, Colombia. It is headed by our nineteen (19) year old niece (Mariana Arias). We could relate to this awesome cause after living the cancer experience in the flesh and having my wife survive this horrible disease. Who would have imagined that when Mariana was about ten (10) years old, cancer would impact her purpose in life after seeing her aunt (Maria Arias) battle such disease? That situation would be the beginning of her life journey as she turned into a cancer advocate and warrior as she sets her focus on childhood cancer.
On May 9th, 2016 Mariana started an Instagram page (moments.of.hope) where she shares stories of young warriors fighting cancer and remembers those who have passed away, supporting their parents, and admiring the brave survivors. All this was created in honor and loving memory of two young amazing kids which passed away in May 2016; their names were "Mack (she fought rhabdomyosarcoma cancer) and Brook (who fought astrocytoma cancer)", these two children very much inspired Mariana from the beginning. Since their passing, Mariana has made it her mission to do something for those children who are fighting cancer locally in Cali and all-around the world.
Mariana started by making toy packages for the young warriors battling cancer on a worldwide basis. With the help of your donations and the support of sponsors, she can send these toy baskets all over the world. The primarily objective is to let them know they have a group of friends who care. Thus, bringing a smile to their faces. This kind gesture has been a proven way of lifting the spirit of these cancer fighting warriors.
All of Mariana’s efforts are possible simply because of the generosity such as yours! During the past five years (with your donations) she has been able to help more than 700 kids all over the world. Remember, the funds (the seeds you are planting) will go towards packages, food, medicine, last wishes, and in some cases, even with financial/funeral assistance for the families of those little cancer warriors.
We are so proud of our niece. At her young age, she has already done so much to benefit others, much more than most would do in their lifetime. God bless her heart and hope she concludes all her professional and personal goals. We do not doubt that she will be a great psychologist one day. One thing is for sure, her efforts towards helping children with cancer are already making an impact in this world.
