Since 2019 Mommy'sBreak Inc. has been dedicated to recreating and strengthening what the foundation of the family looks like. Focusing on where that foundation starts, which is with the mother. We have continued to do so in various ways, including feeding homeless women and children, quarterly give aways (termed: Adopt-a-Mommy), monthly blogs, coaching, and more! At this time we are looking to expand as an organization by opening our first teen mommy group home here in Fort Valley, Georgia! It is with intent that after establishing our initial home we will be able to expand to offer similar services to teen fathers. So please help us reach our goal, as we have already secured $45,000 of the $60,000 needed!
In securing this property Mommy'sBreak Inc. will be able to service it's first Transitional Housing Program. We have planned to start with 5 teen mothers (ages 15-21; with the exception of special circumstances). Regardless of which stage of motherhood (Expecting, child in custody, working towards re-obtaining custody, etc). This program will be designed as a 12 month transitional time for mothers preparing for independent living. This will include various services such as coaching, mental & physical health education, transportation, time & money management, relationship building, stress elimination, job training, and more! This property will also allow for the space to house children who are in the physical care of mothers.
Our founding director has spent 3 years as a lead worker in a group home catered to those with brain injuries, 1 year in a mental health teen facility, and 3 years as a foster care case worker in two different states! We are ready to not only change the motherhood narrative, but also the negative stigma that comes with group homes! Again, we are in need of $60k to secure the home we have found, but over half is already raised!!! Anything will be appreciated to help us get to the next step!
