Mommy and Me mission to Peru

19 years ago I stepped foot in a South American country whose people, culture and landscape captured my heart.  The people and breathtaking geography are what make Peru so beautiful.

Along with it's beauty, like all countries, Peru is home to so much heartache.   Street children, poverty, abuse, and addiction are the dark side of the Peruvian culture .  

One of many life changing moments for me was the moment a group of street children rushed in to clear off our leftovers after eating in a local cafe. 

I'm grateful  to have had the opportunity to return almost a dozen more times to Peru.  These precious people have become "family".  

After eight years, I now have the opportunity to take our oldest child to a land I love.  This will be an opportunity for her to give, serve, expand her worldview, put her languge skills to the test and most of all show some love to her Peruvian "brothers and sisters".  She is wise beyond her years and has a heart full of compassion. She is ready for this adventure.

She will also get to experience the passion of the legacy of international mission work of her grandparents and parents. 

During our time in Peru, we will hold a large  festival for children where we will sing, play games, have clowns, give prizes and put a smile on sweet little faces.  We will give a message of love and hope and remind them that they are LOVED and have a PURPOSE for their life.  Most of all, we are going  to take something called"ESPERANZA" (hope) to these precious children. 

We will also be giving away soccer balls and shoes for children in need. 

In the evenings, we will hold a large festival for the entire community.  There, we will sing, share a message of hope, purpose and Christ's love.
