Momo the rescue cat
Donation protected
Little Momo the dragon boating kitten was found in some bushes a few weeks ago after he had been hit by a scooter.
He was quickly brought to the intensive care unit at the vet, where he recovered from internal bleeding and an infection, but then caught a flu in the intensive care unit. He has been recovering over the past few weeks from his flu and meanwhile getting regular vet check-ups, scans, blood tests and acupuncture (to minimise the chance of nerve damage). Now he is ready for surgery to fix his two unstable pelvic fractures and fractured left leg femur.
The vet is one that often does surgeries for rescue cats. We have not been able to find an animal charity or cat haven in Jakarta that can help but the vet will do the surgery and follow-up work at a steep discount. Momo is a very cuddly little thing.
Momo's costs have already amounted to $1000 AUD (10 juta) for the original intensive care unit stay, acupuncture, blood tests, x rays, medicine and consultation fees and we have been quoted another $1700 AUD (17 juta) for his 4 hour surgery, second intensive care stay, special food and medication, acupuncture sessions, and another two sets of full blood tests and x-rays.
