On April 1st, 2016, my sister Monean suffered a Brain Aneurysm. She entered the emergency room with severe head, neck and back pain. Within 24hrs, she was rushed into surgery to place a clip on the aneurysm to stop the bleeding in her brain. While in surgery she had some complications that caused a hole in her carotid artery. During the time it took to patch the hole, the upper area of the carotid artery in her brain died off, leaving her with mobility issues within the left side of her body. On April 4th, Monean had another setback as she suffered a stroke and a day after that began to have spasms in her brain. She has been in an induced coma since surgery. 
Monean is the mother of four. Her stepdaughter Alizah (15), her son Gabriel (12), daughter Liliana (8), and most recent son Frankie (3months). While Monean is starting to make some positive improvements, she has a long road to recovery once she is in the clear.




This aneurysm occured on her second day back to work after being on maternity leave. She had just exhausted her 12 week FMLA leave from work during that time. Monean will now be in the hospital for the next month and then living at a rehab facility for her physical therapy thereafter. It is unclear at this time the extent of her disabilities as we do not know how much damage was caused by the stokes. We do know she will have to learn to walk, if possible, and hopefully regain mobility in her left arm, hands, legs, and feet. Monean will also have to live away from her children for at least 2 to 4 months.

All donations will go directly to Monean and her family as they may need assistance with medical bills, child care, and personal finances while she is unable to work. Your donations will also help Monean maintain her insurance permiums for her hospital stay and recovery while she is unable to work, or in the event she loses her job due to lack of FMLA time.
