ASAP - Advocating for Students Above Politics

Hi, my name is Brenda Stewart, and along with Karen Pirkle, I am raising funds, and support, to fight back against politics in the behemoth, Gwinnett County Public Schools.  We are fighting for our rights as parents - to participate in school decisions that greatly affect our children.

 

Karen and I were the lucky (insert sarcasm) moms who got arrested at the November school board meeting (Trespassing for Karen & Obstruction for me).  The political machinations of our school board are playing a HUGE role in the chaos parents are facing.  Karen & I are now being used as the sacrificial lambs by GCPS.  A loud message is being sent to parents and citizens who advocate against GCPS policies. If you speak up and out, they can come for you too. You can be sent to jail, have your mugshot plastered front and center in news/media coverage.  Your reputation, and essentially your life, can be destroyed without remorse if you mess with them. The end justifies their means.   They need opposition to sit down and be silent, but we will not.  We will continue to advocate for our rights and those of our children. Politics are driving agendas, narratives and even curriculum.   

Karen and I cannot fight back alone. We need your help! We need your hands-on support but we also need help with the astronomical costs associated with attorney fees (both criminal and civil), research, open record requests, and many other costs associated with this fight.

 

Please consider helping us fight back against a politcally-driven government entity that is extremely arrogant and thinks they are above the law themselves.  Our constitutional rights were trampled without hesitation.  You can donate anonymously if you are concerned about retaliation.
