Moms Demand Action: PT Partners Uniform Drive
Donation protected
This summer, volunteers from CT Moms Demand Action are raising funds to assist families in the PT Barnum Apartments with purchasing school uniforms for this fall.
City gun violence is a devastating epidemic; its root causes are deep and far-reaching. In the city of Bridgeport, the residents of PT have had to devastatingly endure an abundance of shootings, while consistently navigating the daily trauma of what it means to live in a neighborhood plagued by gun violence.
In partnership with PT Partners, a group where resident leaders are empowered to actively drive change to break down systemic and institutional oppression in their lives, their neighborhood, and the greater Bridgeport community, we will participate on August 20th in their I Love PT! Day, a day where gun violence prevention groups and other community partners will come together to celebrate the unwavering spirit and relentless hard work of this community. Working together, we can #endgunviolence.
All funds raised through this campaign will be used to purchase gift cards to Old Navy, Target, Walmart and Regines, four stores that supply uniforms for the various Bridgeport public schools at affordable prices that will be given to families.
