Moms fight against Gastric Cancer…
Donation protected
Hi, as most of you know my name is Cassi. Some of you may also know my mom, Trina. My mom has recently been diagnosed with Gastric Cancer, specifically Linitis Plastica, it accounts for roughly 10% of gastric cancers. It is an aggressive and sneaky cancer, generally it doesn’t show symptoms until it is in later stages.
A little background:
Everything began around late August, my mom started having symptoms like pain right after eating, heartburn symptoms, vomiting, not being able to eat fully because she would feel full too quickly, weight loss, and many more. After MANY MANY appointments and after nearly six months we finally got a diagnoses on February 14th of Gastric Cancer. As you can imagine we were shocked by the diagnoses and have been trying to get as much information and answers that we can.
At this point she has had a endoscopy’s, CT scan, PET scan, EUS (endoscopic ultrasound), and numerous biopsies. Today (March 31) she had a laparoscopic procedure to check for peritoneal metastasis, we are currently waiting on results from that to get the final staging finished up. (If negative, they are saying stage 2) As of now the stomach is totally involved and there was a biopsy performed on a lymph node that unfortunately came back positive as well. If the peritoneal test from today comes back negative, the doctors are recommending chemotherapy, and then a total gastrectomy. She has been going to the chiropractor and a naturalists doctor who has been giving her some awesome Vitamin C treatments, and has put her on a lot of remedies/herbs to try to help with symptoms.
Mom is currently trying to figure out what is the best path to take to fight this very nasty, very aggressive cancer.
I have told her from the start when she was ready to share I would get something started for her, so that is what I’m doing. If you feel compelled to help my mother fight this cancer, please donate. If you cannot donate, I would ask you to pray for her, lift her up and pray for strength. For her and our entire family.
On top of everything else that is going on the last thing I want her worrying about is any bill of any sort. Cancer treatment and cancer tests are very expensive and unfortunately they are very necessary as well.
If you read this please share this page, help to get the word out and help us help our mom, our comforter, our number one supporter. Thank you for helping my family and thank you for sharing this post. It really means the world to our family and to my mother.
