Mom’s Fight Against Metastatic Breast Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Lindsay Bagley and I am fundraising for my Mom, Kathy Bagley. A mother, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend to all, my mom is one of the kindest people you could ever meet. Anyone who knows her knows how much she hates asking for help, but right now she could really use it.
In March of 2016, she was diagnosed with Stage Zero Breast Cancer. After a dual mastectomy, three months of chemotherapy, and one year of battling, she was officially in remission. Now, only five years later, she is forced to fight again. This time with a much nastier diagnosis. On December 5th of this year, I received the call that no daughter should ever have to receive. The cancer is back, and this time in multiple places.
My mom has now been diagnosed with Stage Four Metastatic Breast Cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer is now present in her liver and the lymph nodes on the left side of her throat. She also has pleural effusion, which is the buildup of malignant fluid between the tissues that line her lungs and chest and has had to have several painful procedures to drain the fluid and stop her right lung from collapsing.
Once again, she will have to endure chemotherapy, beginning the week after Christmas. This time, it will be a much more aggressive cocktail that will be administered intravenously once a week for three weeks, with a week off and then another three weeks on. They expect this to run for a course of three months. If the cancer responds to treatment, she will be switched to an oral chemotherapy following the initial chemotherapy. There has also been talk of immunotherapy and medical trials down the line.
I have created this Go Fund Me to hopefully ease the financial burden that this is forcing on our family. My Mom works for herself and will be without income during her battle. We could all really use some help right now. From the bottom of my heart, I humbly ask that you share this link with everyone you can and donate if possible (anything at all helps). Thank you so much for reading all of this and for all of your support!
