Mom's van was stolen!
Donation protected
Tonight, 2/1/22, my mom, Barbara Yochum, had her van stolen from outside the door of her house in the Bywater. Her van was filled with all her artwork that she sells as her only source of income at Jackson Square in New Orleans, La.
My mom is in her mid 80s and works each weekend at Jackson Square where she has worked for over 50 years. She came to New Orleans after art school in the 60s and is known for colorful mermaids and angel paintings. The cover photo is her setup at Jackson Square the last weekend she worked, just days before everything was stolen.
Her van was a 2008 gold Toyota Sienna like this pictured van which is not hers but is a similar make, model and color. I will update when i a photo of her actual van.

She will need help replacing the van, the supplies and keeping her bills paid in the meantime. She had just spent thousands on wheel bearing/ ball joint repairs. Unfortunately, it was filled with mostly original oil paintings worth thousands. If we can help her replace the vehicle and have her bills paid for a couple months so she can start painting with extra oil paints she will be on the road to recovery. Thank you.
Her Independence depends 100% on this vehicle and her ability to transport her artwork as she creates it. Given her age the rebound from this is going to be extremely difficult and we sincerely thank you in advance if you are able to help in anyway.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
